Cassondra Baber comes to Nelson, McPherson, Summers & Santos with twelve years of experience as a criminal prosecutor in Baltimore City, Charlottesville, and Staunton, where she tried all types of cases to verdict before judges and juries. Cassondra currently practices in the areas of family law and criminal defense, and believes that her experience prosecuting allows her a unique insight into evaluating and defending cases, as well as counseling clients on the potential strategies and outcomes, all to better help accomplish the client’s goals. Cassondra strives to provide help and assistance to people going through difficult situations, while still doing everything she can to legally protect their interests. One part counselor and two parts attorney, Cassondra works to get to the root of every problem in order to find the best path forward.

Outside the office, Cassondra loves to spend time outdoors with her husband and two small children, whether at the farmer’s market, a local bakery, or working on their historic home in Staunton (which will likely never be finished). Passionate about cooking and baking, Cassondra finds joy in making and sharing food with others.
